MISSION
Restoring the lives of orphans & vulnerable children in Uganda
From experiencing child abuse and orphanage, to being forced into child labour, too many children fall victim to hardship that is out of their control. Amber Foundation was starter with the goal of giving all children in Uganda a fair and equal chance at life.

MEET
Mukisa Elisa
8 years old
Before he was brought to Amber Foundation, Elisa lived at the extreme end of Wakiso district where his step mother tortured and abused him. He has missed several years of study because of his abuse and the economic stress on his family.
Since joining Amber Foundation, Elisa has started home schooling (due to COVID-19) and has grown to be very diligent and compassionate. With further mentoring from his friends and the Foundation’s community, it is still possible to put a light in his future.

CHILDREN
Holly Christopher
6 years old
Holy has been suffering most of his life before he came to Amber Foundation. Holly lived with his grandfather until he was no longer able to receive adequate care or education. Holly love aeroplanes so much that he sits and waves at them every day. He hopes to one day fly a plane.
MEET
Nakiwala Penninah
4 years old
Penninah sadly lost a parent in 2021 during the 2nd wave of COVID-19. Penninah is a very friendly and intelligent little girl who loves studying, singing, running, and playing cards. Penninah is a special little girl and is destined for great things. Being with Amber Foundation means she will have a better chance of living a full and purposeful life.

MEET
Atwine Mary
8 years old
Though Mary has experience plenty of struggles in her life, she is always one to smile and enjoy the company of her friends at Amber Foundation. Mary has been with us for over two years now and is working towards her goal of becoming a secondary teacher.

MEET
Rafa Matovu
4 years old
Rafa was malnourished orphan who would only get one small meal every two days when he used to live with his grandfather. Rafa’s hunger made him venture to the streets where he was exposed to harsh and dangerous conditions. Now, Rafa enjoys playing football with his friends at Amber Foundation and wants to one day become a farmer.

TEAM
We are dedicated to the wellbeing & development of children across Uganda
Most children in Uganda are born into poverty and have little to no control over their own health, education and quality of life. Volunteering with Amber Foundation has given me a platform to create impact through providing resources to these under privileged children.Jackie Namalwa

Ambrose Mulinda
Founder
Ambrose was born in the slums of Kyebando, a small town in Uganda. The slums were a hard place to grow up – they were always congest and poorly built, but taught me about unity, love and sharing. His mother always told him how she was lifted by others and this has been always in his mind and heart.
When Ambrose was young, his mother was given flour as a gift from the local church and started baking chapatis, donuts and other small pastries which she sold around the village to make a living. When Ambrose was seven, he started selling these baked goods around the village to help her.
Ambrose learned from a young age the importance of hard work and at 21 was the first in his family to receive a Bachelors degree from Kyambogo University. With the little money he earned from working after his degree, he started helping others in his community.
Now, Ambrose is dedicating his life to helping others.
Mukoota Primrose
Co-founder
Primrose Mukoota was born in Nansana, Uganda, and has been part of Amber Foundation since the start. She is inspired by the joy and love she gets from caring for children and those around her. Primrose enjoys baking and has started teaching the children at the foundation to bake, too.
Being the eldest in a family of 6, Primrose has been caring for others since she was young. Recently, her father sadly passed away due to COVID-19 so understands the struggles and pain that young orphaned children must face and wants to help them by giving them a “brighter hope for tomorrow”.

DONATIONS
Providing food, shelter, clothing and education to the orphaned children of Uganda
Amber Foundation needs around $115 USD per child per month to cover their basic needs for food, shelter, health and education. Here is how you can help sponsor a child:
- $5 = food for a week
- $10 = medical bills for a month
- $35 = provide basics for a child
- $63 = provide education for a month
- $100 = help us build an orphanage
We are also raising $23,000 USD to set up a permanent orphanage. The money will be used to buy land for crop farming, which will help us harvest food to feed the children. We will also be able to provide children vocational training that will help them go into the world better prepared.https://www.google.com/maps/embed?pb=!1m18!1m12!1m3!1d1510.7755495029824!2d32.54486202819731!3d0.35771393993295725!2m3!1f0!2f0!3f0!3m2!1i1024!2i768!4f13.1!3m3!1m2!1s0x177dbb5085797d59%3A0xcaeaa20f8ad6672d!2sNansana%20Division%20Office!5e0!3m2!1sen!2suk!4v1629050501581!5m2!1sen!2suk
